Get to know a little more about them through our interview with band member Joshua Case below.

Tell us about you and your band!

We are just 5 dudes from the Bay Area making music. Santa Rosa, Fremont, Palo Alto, San Jose, and Gilroy are all represented. Million Trillion has been a handful of songs in a notebook for several years, but now everyone has come together and given it life. We have been active for about 6 months now and are working on releasing some new music and getting out and playing more.

Why do you choose to make music? What do you love about it?

Music has always been something in the forefront of my life. I really like creating something that connects to people emotionally.

What do you hate?

I hate how people take for granted the time that musicians put into the music they create.

Tell us about The Matches.

I first heard The Matches at the Genues farewell show in San Jose at a venue called The Portable. They had recently self released E. Von Dahl Killed the Locals and it was pre-Epitaph. I remember the crowd was so packed in that the floor was flexing beneath us. I was blown away by the energy of the live show. I think over time, the way The Matches weren’t bound by the “rules” of their genre really influenced me to expand and write outside of my comfort zone.

Which Matches song are you going to cover and why?

We will be covering December is for Cynics because to me it encompasses the attitude The Matches have always had in their song writing.  They took a very normal and potentially boring task in writing a Christmas song and turned it on its head with their brand of frenetic charm. Also, ’tis the season.

We can’t wait to hear December is for Cynics as interpreted by Million Trillion–it’ll be the perfect way to kick off the showcase & the holiday season. SEE YOU THERE!

Million Trillion is a new band out of San Jose, CA making a name for themselves in the Bay Area.
